EXERCISE 01: MODELING FROM PRIMITIVE OBJECTS
WEEK 02 - Blender Basic Command
In Week 02, we have learnt about the basic shortcuts and commands in Blender. At first, Mr. Kamal taught us how to rotate, select, grab, mirror and view objects from different axes. Then, he asked us to make a table following his steps by applying the commands we had just learnt. I got to know about the methods of adding new objects and scaling them based on certain axes. This allowed me to build basic objects from a single cube easily. Besides, I also referred to YouTube videos in order to learn more about the functions of Blender.
Soon, Mr. Kamal released our first exercise brief, which required us to think of any object that could be simplified as a combination of primitive objects. We were not allowed to use the Edit Mode yet, but modifiers were free to use. At first, I decided to make an excavator, but I found it difficult as I hadn't mastered all of the functions in Blender yet. I spent some time discovering and exploring Blender while trying out making a car and robot as practice. After further thought, I chose to make a truck.

WEEK 03 - Building A Truck By Using Primitive Objects
Before starting to build a truck, I searched for truck images from Google to get some inspiration. I downloaded a reference image which gave me an overall concept of how to break the truck into separate parts. My truck was built from torus, cuboids, spheres, and cylinders. To get a greater understanding of how to apply the modifiers and render objects, I watched some YouTube tutorials and tried to discover the techniques. I tried to challenge myself by making the interior space of the driver's seat. It was an exciting process as I had the opportunity to use Boolean modifier multiple times to shape the front part by making holes for windows and places for seats. After A few hours of model-making, my truck was done!
I wished to make form a metallic effect on my truck, so I increased the scale and reduced the roughness to make the surface shiny and reflective. I added 2 plans as ground and background in order to build a photo shooting space for my truck to stay. I modified the angles of the camera and added three lights around to make the truck bright enough to be seen. I was satisfied with the outcome as this was my first time making a cute object by myself. Although it was a little hard for beginners, but I believe that I can do well next time by practising more.
